Success Stories - 2005
PUA Rescued 7-12-05 Adopted 9-19-05 Pua came to us from a shelter in Talahassee. Her back legs were atrophied from being left in a kennel too much at her owners home. She was also heartworm positive. Not a good way for such a beautiful young 6 year old girl to have begun her life but all of that has now changed. Pua was adopted by Joe and Alice. Alice decided to surprise Joe with Pua because at the time he was very ill and she felt the companionship would be just what the doctor ordered. When Joe saw Pua, his eyes lit up like a Christmas tree and the two have become very close. Joe and Alice spent 23 years stationed in Hawaii and have always named their dogs in accordance with the native language of Hawaii. Pua means Flower. Alice tells us that Pua is the most loving dog they have ever had. She acts as if she has always been a part of their family. Her favorite thing to do is going for her 1 mile walk every morning. There's nothing better then the feel of the fresh morning dew on the bottom of your paws to start your day off right! To Joe and Alice, we would like to Thank You for giving Pua the forever home she deserves. And to Joe, a very special Thank You for your many years of serving our Great Country. It's because of men and women like you that we can all stand proud and proclaim that We Are Americans. God Bless.
