Hemi

Rescued
Adopted 7-22-05

This adorable little guy is Hemi.  He came to us from Atlanta as an owner surrender.  They could not keep him due to the husband being allergic.  We found Hemi a forever home and now we must contact the Olympic Committee to register him for the 2008 Summer Games in the Track and Field Events.

Hemi was adopted by Jeremy and his wife Rachel.  Last year on Thanksgiving Day their received an early Christmas gift.  A female Golden puppy they now call Ginger.  After living for almost a year without a canine sibling, Jeremy and Rachel decided it was time to give Ginger a brother.  Along came Hemi!

Life is interesting at Jeremy and Rachels house now without a doubt.  They now have two Goldens both under the age of 2.  This is either complete love and devotion for the breed or a complete mental breakdown.  Whichever it may be, it's fun!

Jeremy tell us that Hemi has been a joy to have.  One of the first nights Hemi spent in his new home he demonstrated his hurdling ability.  As he was running down the stairs at lightning speed he decided to jump and completely eliminate the last 4 stairs.  Not realizing that wood floors are slippery, Hemi landed, slid across the floor, and unable to stop, crashed into the armoire door which held the television.  The door broke, Hemi was fine and walked away from his olympic event with a better knowledge of wood floors!!  This however would not be his last attempt at Long Jump.

A few nights later while Jeremy and Rachel were enjoying dinner, Hemi decided to give Long Jumping one more try.  He just had to qualify for the Olympics in his age group!!  So with determination in his eyes, and spring in his tiny legs, Hemi jumped 4 FEET from the floor to the top of the table, with all 4 paws firmly planted on the tabletop!  And the crowd goes wild!  Success at last!  A perfect 10 from the Judges!  However, a scolding from Mom and Dad.  Poor Hemi.  Cost of replacing dinner dishes, $12.00; Hemi's lifelong memory of his famous Long Jump, PRICELESS!

Thank you Jeremy and Rachel for giving Hemi the home and family he deserves.  We hope your smiles are many and your vet visits are few!  With a dog like Hemi........there's no telling!
