Duke #10094 Print E-mail

11 Year-Old Male
ADOPTED!
11-27-2010

Duke is an 11 year old house-trained, neutered male who was surrendered to ECGRR by his lifetime owner due to family health problems.

Duke is very mild mannered, calm, and a people loving golden, who lives to please and lie around inside with his family.  Duke is good with children, other dogs, is well behaved on lead, doesn't bolt, has no problems with car travel, and recalls nicely.  Duke has excellent house manners.  His foster parents report that he sleeps soundly throughout the night on their bedroom floor and gets along well with their other dog inside or outside the home.  He can be let outside in the yard off lead to do his "business" and will recall obediently afterwards.

Duke passed a complete vet physical and is heartworm and parasite negative.  Duke was found to have some flea associated dermatitis and an external ear infection which both are resolving.

Duke is a younger looking senior golden who comes with great house manners, is calm, easy going, people-loving, and is very much a "turn-key", low maintenance, "rug dog" with no major baggage.  He is not rambunctious or hyperactive so Duke would be safe inside a home with children or the elderly.  His foster parents have not yet tested Duke with cats or seen his behavior during thunderstorms.  Duke socialized well at the recent Pensacola Barktoberfest which involved exposure to scores of other dogs, people, children petting, and loud unexpected noises.

Duke likes to go for walks on lead outdoors.  Although not a barker, Duke is aware of his surroundings and offers a soft alert "woof-woof" when he hears a vehicle approaching the house, but is "golden" friendly to all.  Duke will make a warm, loving, easy going companion.

If you can give this wonderful senior the great home he deserves, fill out the online aadoption application and mention "Duke #10094".

Duke likes to have his photo taken.

What a handsome senior!

I need a loving home.
