Success Stories - 2004
Daisy Adopted 1 Nov 2003 Daisy (aka: Lady) came in shortly after we received all but one of her puppies. The litter was turned in to PAWS for having Ringworm. A couple of days after we got the puppies settled in quarantine at Niceville Animal Clinic, Daisy was turned in with the last of her pups. We decided to keep her separate from the pups since she appeared totally exhausted. Her foster home teased her that they were going to give her "a bed and breakfast experience" after raising such a great litter past the time that they should have been weaned. Originally we received an application from Peggy stating she was looking for a petite Golden. When Daisy came in and we contacted her, Peggy said, "I don't know what I was thinking. I don't have room for a Golden in my house." Well, once Daisy's situation was explained....Peggy melted and made a date to meet Lady. Peggy and Bill fell for this sweet momma of a Golden and have been spoiling her rotten ever since. They gave her a whole new life, including the new name Daisy. They nursed her back to good health, including heartworm treatment and being spayed. Daisy gave them a scare or two going through her heartworm treatment, but is now as healthy as can be. Daisy went through Debbie Revell's obedience class and was even in the same class with one of her pups. Daisy had a birthday party at The Doggy Bag and celebrated with many of her playmates, bobbing for hotdogs and eating 'dog friendly' birthday cake. This past summer Daisy even took a trip in the R.V. to Disney World. How this Golden's life has changed!!! Peggy is now taking Daisy through therapy training. We are so happy that Daisy had the good fortune of finding a home with Bill and Peggy, both are now volunteering with ECGRR. Daisy will continue to make us all proud of her for years to come
Thanks Bill and Peggy!
