Sandy #10008 Print E-mail

13-Year-Old Female
ADOPTED!
9-11-2010

*Special Needs

Sandy is a very sweet, very loving golden mix; she weighs in at a petite 53 lbs. She is very eager to please her people! She loves to be near her people at home, including watching television, eating together and getting belly rubs. She is good with other dogs but they need to be older dogs that would not play to rough.

Sandy loves to jump around and bark, especially in the morning. As soon as she wakes up she is ready for her snack and then play time and roaming time outside. She loves to play outside where she can run and bark, yes sometimes when in the mood she runs around and plays like a puppy. She will come at the blow of a whistle, but if she decides she wants in she will bark at the door. Sandy loves to go for walks but only short ones because she does get tired.

I know the command “Sit”

Sandy has been learning commands by hand signals. She knows Sit, Come here, Go away (this one is for when the family is having meals and she wants to participate) she is also learning Shake. She is afraid of thunderstorms, mostly at night. If you leave the TV on or a radio and night light it calms her.

Sandy came to us because her family could no longer care for and took her to a shelter. ECGRR rescued her the next day. When she got to her foster home they detected a problem with her breathing and she had a tumor on her eye and several more on her head , thankfully all were benign and have been removed. Her respiratory infection cleared up with antibiotics. Several people made donations to help with her care, one nice lady in TN. even bought her a brand new bed and had it sent to her.

Sandy needs a forever home willing to love her, that’s all she seems to need, oh and food. She loves food! Sandy is a snack hound. She can figure out when someone in the house has food and is always willing to help out with the last bite. She also gets excited about treats and peanut butter.

If you have enough love in your heart and home for this special girl fill out an adoption application and ask for Sandy by name.

I might be 13…but there are a few balls left for me to retrieve!
