Andy

Meet Andy! WOW! Was our volunteer surprised to see an amazing "before and after"  when she went to visit this wonderful family today.  Andy was adopted in 2003, but due to our overworked volunteers we are sadly behind on our success stories. Once Andy was seen today, his story HAD to be published.
 
We first met Andy's generous family when they donated money towards Bagger's surgery. Bill was searching for a Golden Retriever he could take hunting when he visited friends. Due to the seriousness of Bagger's surgery we didn't think he would ever see well enough to hunt. It wasn't long after that first conversation that Andy needed to be rescued from a "kill shelter" further east down the panhandle.
 
Bill and Astrid managed to take Andy in, despite Astrid having major surgery and Bill's job requiring travel. In the beginning, when Andy was taken in for an appointment to be neutered, Bill expressed concern that they might not be able to keep Andy with the amount of rehabilitation Astrid was going through, but to see Andy today.....you would never know that he was a thin, scared, and extremely shy Golden that was living on borrowed time at a poor shelter.
 
Today he is so happy and healthy. Although, Andy is still a little timid. He didn't hesitate at all to rush to greet the visitor that came in the front door. LOOK at that wonderful COAT!!! We can only say a huge THANK YOU to Bill and Astrid for having such a Golden Heart and we wish them all well as they leave the Emerald Coast for the mountains of North Carolina. Andy is one lucky Golden to be going to romp in the snow.
