ECGRR Goes International!

ECGRR is proud to announce the recent adoption of Kirra and Coby, who have the distinct honor of being our first international adoptees!

This beautiful success story is attributable to Gabi Lindmayer, who conceived and executed the perfect plan to find forever homes for these two wonderful friends.  Gabi’s daughter, who was the foster parent for Kirra and Coby, introduced these puppies to her mother during a recent visit to the Panhandle.  After hearing of their plight to find a home, she conceived the idea of international adoption – Germany!  Being from Germany, she contacted several German websites and made flyers for her friends to post in local pet stores.  The overwhelming response led to several phone interviews, which culminated in lengthier interviews that led to the selection of two wonderful families.  The stories and photos of Kirra and Coby captured the hearts of these wonderful caring families.

As you can imagine, the goodbyes were really difficult for the foster family; after all, they were foster parents for seven months, which is plenty of time to fall in love with Kirra and Coby.  Their time as foster parents was both rewarding and fun. The ECGRR Family is very grateful for their help!

The long trip from Florida to Germany presented many challenges, but they eventually arrived – with tails wagging --- in Munich, Germany.  Upon their arrival, they were greeted by their new families with love and affection!

Coby was the first to be picked up by his new family.  He was met by his new siblings: Phil, a Labrador mix, and Jimmy, a potbelly pig.  He then met his human family, jumped in the car, sat between the two children, and was delighted to finally be home!

In spite of being abused as a puppy, Kirra (now renamed Lilly) grew up to be a wonderful, loving and trusting dog.  Her new family enrolled her in obedience classes where she is learning to be the naturally intelligent girl everyone knew her to be.

Thanks to Gabi Lindmayer, Kirra and Coby now spend their days running in the fields and forests of Bavaria.
