Dandy #9166 Print E-mail

Six-Year-Young Male
ADOPTED!

* Special Needs
6-16-2010 Update

Did you say you wanted me to come home with you?

My name is Dandy and I’m an extremely happy 6-year young guy. When I was a year old I was hit by a truck and lost my front left leg, but that did not slow me down one bit!

Update 6-16-2010: Dandy arrived at ECGRR already named, but if we were to name him now it would be “Happy”. He stands out even amongst other Goldens in being exceptionally happy and friendly. Dandy is a special needs dog that lost his front left leg when he was 6 months old after being hit by a truck. He’s adapted quite well, and has even mastered using a pet door! Dandy has bitten two people – one was a child that was playing with his face, and the other an adult who was closely staring into his eyes for an extended period of time. In the latter case the person thought she and Dandy were having a bonding moment. Some dogs feel threatened by this kind of behavior and respond by biting, and Dandy is one of these dogs. Dandy has since been temperament tested and passed with flying colors. He’s shown absolutely no evidence of offensive aggression, and should thrive in a home with adults that fully understand he feels threatened if people get in his face. Accordingly, Dandy needs to be placed in a home with dog-savvy people and no children.

I can do anything with just three legs!

Dreaming of my forever home!

I have the enthusiasm of a pup and light up any room I enter. As you can see I have a smile Hollywood would pay $ Millions for, but all you need to adopt me is lots of love and a place I can call home.

If you think Dandy is the dog for you, please fill out an online application and mention him by name.
