Shelby Print E-mail

6-Year-Old Female
(updated 12/17)

ADOPTED!

This is Shelby. She was surrendered because her owner's were moving.  We were originally told that she was ten years old, but after her physical it was stated that she was probably about 6 years old.

Shelby has already been spayed. She is slightly overweight but a new diet and regular exercise will help her.  She's gets along with other dogs and children.  We do know that she likes to chase squirrels but has been just fine with cats in the house.

Her annual vet checkup indicated she was heartworm positive.  She has completed her heartworm treatment and now enjoys daily walks.

If you think that you have the right home for this lady, fill out the online application and ask for Shelby.

Foster Home Report - 12/17/2009:  Shelby has been with us going on about 2 months and has been an absolute pleasure.  We saw her through her heartworm treatment.  She has full run of the house, is fully house-broken and gets along just great with our 3 dogs and cat.  She loves riding in a car!!

Her daily highlights are the morning and afternoon walks we take around the neighborhood with our own three dogs --- seeing her leash and collar results in "talking" and hopping around.  She is usually the first one our the door!  Shelby does like to go after squirrels and we've been working on training her to not bolt after them.  She is very responsive to learning voice commands.

In the house, she makes a for a great "couch potato" and will readily cuddle with someone for a nap.   Shelby would be the perfect family addition for someone  looking for a well behaved golden that can fit into just about any environment.
