Dock Jumping at the Pensacola Seafood Festival Print E-mail

Congratulations Rusty!

At the 2009 Seafood Festival in Pensacola, Rusty made his debut at the "splash dogs" dock jumping contest.  Dogs are classed by the distance they "can" jump and the distance is measured by where the base of their tail hits the water.

This dog is having fun!

Rusty is perfecting his form!

In three different waves, Rusty placed first place twice in the junior class, and second place in the senior class.  Rusty's 16'11" jump placed him in the senior class.  The following day Rusty surprised everybody and won the whole Redfish Cup Splash Dog Contest with 19'7" in the finals.  What an upset!

That was his first of many more.  He just loves dock jumping.  So we’ll keep an eye out on Rusty to see what he can do at next year’s Seafood Festival.

Congratulations Rusty.
