Pride's Adoption Print E-mail
"One home at a time"
Emerald Coast Golden Retriever Rescue Inc.

What a happy day it was at PetSmart on Sunday June 14, 2009.   There were golden wagging tails everywhere and fun to be had by all patrons.   One of the most exciting happenings was the adoption of Pride—renamed Brutus.   He was the last little guy from his litter.   His new adoptive family thinks they got the best puppy of the bunch.

The new adoptive family is Chris, Valerie, Lucas and Susan Voorheis.   They have been looking for the right puppy.   This is a young energetic family where Brutus will fit right in with their active lifestyle.

Here’s what the Dad tells us about Brutus: “Well, he's a big rambunctious puppy, and most of the time just wants to play.  However, when he gets tired, he cannot stand to be in the room alone, so he follows me around and every time I stop, he will lay down in just the right position so he can put his head on my foot. If I get up and walk away, he follows. Kid's rooms are off limits, so if he sees an open door, he will sprint in their room, grab the first thing he can get his mouth around and run out. He never gets far because the kids are on to him. He also likes to pick up his bed and walk around. He will take his bed out of his crate and over to a more suitable spot. This is a pretty funny sight as the bed is twice his size.

It appears that Brutus had a very tiring day.   Being adopted is hard work!

Don't you just love stories with happy endings!?!
