Success Stories - 2005
Mic Rescued 23-March-05 Adopted 5-April-05 This handsome young guy is Mic. He was surrendered by his original owners to PAWS because they were going to have a new baby and didn't want him any longer. He came to ECGRR with a slight cough and 20lbs under weight. When ECGRR went to PAWS to get him, Mic was very scared and skiddish. Being only 1 1/2 years old, a shelter full of loud noises and barking dogs can be a very scary place. Bob, Stacey and Lizzy had been looking for a playmate for their adopted Golden Hunter who they had adopted through ECGRR in 2004. Stacey went to visit Mic at his foster home and decided they would try making Mic and Hunter "brothers." It didn't take long before the two were not only brothers but Partners in Crime! One day when returning home from work, Stacey noticed the kitchen cabinet door open. This just happened to be the cabinet that contained the 20lb bag of dog food that was half full when she left in the morning. Well, needless to say, the cabinet was open, the bag of food was empty, and two very guilty, yet full, dogs stood to be accused. When Stacey looked at the two guilty parties in front of her and asked who committed this crime, Hunter ran out of the room (apparently proclaiming his innocence) and Mic bowed his head and raised his eyes in shame. The guilty party had confessed! Needless to say, childproof locks have now been placed on all kitchen cabinets. Mic loves living in his new home, sleeping in a king size bed, playing ball in the backyard with Hunter and going to the dog park in Niceville. His best buddy at the dog park is a Border Collie named Jake. Thank you Bob, Stacey and Lizzy for opening your home and your hearts to another Golden in need of a forever home and a loving family.
