UPDATE 3-17-2010 Teddy's foster family decided that they wanted to be his forever home - he had become such a member of the family they just couldn't let him go. He recently was diagnosed with severe tooth decay in several areas of his mouth and extractions of a number of teeth were required ... resulting in the new name of Gummy Bear!
Here's what Teddy's Foster family has to say about him: Teddy's hair has finally grown out from the "hair-cut" he received when we first rescued him. He is very handsome with a puppy like face. He is a very happy dog, constantly wagging his tail. He's a senior so he doesn't really play or have favorite toys, but loves to go on walks, be brushed and chew on his rawhides. He gets along with everyone! He has been on Glucosamine and Chondroitin for several months and we have seen a significant improvement in his mobility. When camping in our 20 acre forest, he keeps up with our other three heathens, chasing squirrels, deer, elk, and moose. When he needs to go out, he will tell you by jumping up a few inches on his front paws and "grunting". He is so cute and loveable with those big brown eyes. Recently our 16 year old cat has allowed him to bond with her. The only real difficulty Teddy has is getting into cars. So he'll need a little help to get in. Other than that, he is self sufficient, very respectful and well mannered. Did I say he loves to go on walks?
