Shadow

If this is not the face of one happy dog, we don't know what is!  Shadow is a 5 year old male that came to ECGRR after his owners divorced and his family could no longer give him the time he deserved.  Shadow was surrendered with many tears being shed by his original family.  They entrusted ECGRR to find him a good home and that we did.
 
Shadow is pictured here with his new owners Kelly and Robb.  Robb had always wanted a Golden and Kelly was on a mission to find him the perfect one as a surprise.  She had researched the internet for Rescue Groups and found us.  We told Kelly we thought we had the perfect dog for she and Robb, that was currently in a foster home.  Kelly contacted Shadows foster parents and made arrangements for she and Robb to come meet Shadow.  All of this of course was being arranged without Robb's knowing.  So, one Saturday afternoon, Kelly told Robb that they were going to visit some of her friends and they drove to the foster home.  Shadow was anxiously awaiting in the backyard.  When Robb turned the corner, he looked like a deer in the headlights!  Shadow ran straight to Robb as if to say "Surprise!"  As the two got acquainted it was evident that they would be a family.  After Shadows foster mom finished explaining how the adoption process worked, Robb looked at Shadow and said, "You had me at hello."  It was a Jerry McGuire moment that truly deserved an Oscar.
 
Shadow has settled nicely into his new home.  He shares his new home with two feline sisters Casey and Taz.  Kelly told us that Shadow discovered his love for catnip!  Casey and Taz can no longer have their catnip toys freely about the house due to Shadows newly acquired addiction! 
 
Thank you Kelly and Robb for giving Shadow his forever home.  We hope your lazy days of summer are filled with smiles, catnip, and "you had me at hello's."
