Success Stories - 2005

Zoe

Rescued  25-Sept-04
Adopted 3-Jan-05

Say hello to Zoe.  Zoe was found wandering the streets in Santa Rosa days after Hurricane Ivan.  She was taken in to the Santa Rosa Animal Shelter where it was thought her owners would come to claim her.  Sadly enough, nobody came to pick up this beautiful 2 year old girl.

Bob and Cristie had just recently relocated to this area from North Carolina with their two daughters Madalyn 4, and Laney 3.  After searching the internet and finding ECGRR she contacted our organization.  A meeting was set for she and her family to meet at the park where some of the available dogs would be.  They spotted Zoe right away and fell in love with her.  Zoe however had already been promised to another family that was interested in her.  Cristie and Bob went home that day without a dog and with heavy hearts.  As fate would have it, the final adoption with the other family fell through and when we contacted Cristie and Bob with the news they were thrilled to open their hearts and their home to Zoe.

Cristie tells us that at first Zoe was nervous in her new home.  She would cower when Bob would speak to her.  Our guess is that she had possibly been abused by a male during her short life.  But, with much time, love, and understanding, Zoe is now a member of the WWDF!  That would be the World Wrestling Dog Federation.  One of her favorite pastimes is to wrestle with Bob on the bed!  Zoe doesn't bark, but will let her family know when she wants to play by clicking her teeth.  Apparently she views this method as more lady like.

Thank you Bob, Cristie, Madalyn, and Laney for giving Zoe such a wonderful forever home.  After such a rough start in life, we know Zoe is truly grateful to your family as are we.  We wish you many happy Golden Days ahead.
