2 year old female
ADOPTED!

Pssssst!!  Shhh!  You - come a little closer....  I have a secret that I need to tell you!!  You've got to promise not to breathe a word... pinky swear?  Okay, here it is... I'm not a Golden Retriever.  Seriously, I'm not.

See, one day I was minding my own business, and the next thing I know, I wind up in a shelter.  The people there were pretty nice, but I was there for a long time and each day they seemed to get sadder and sadder.  I'd hear them say things like, "don't understand why she's not adopted" and "we can't put it off much longer".  I'm not real sure what "IT" was but from the looks on their faces, "IT" sure wasn't good.  They looked so sad.

So then one day this lady from Golden Retriever Rescue shows up and the next thing I know, I'm walking out of the shelter big as you please.  Now, this poor lady must not have been the sharpest pencil in the cup if you know what I mean, 'cause I think it's pretty obvious to everyone else that I'm a LABRADOR Retriever, but hey, whatever floats their boat.  Bless their hearts, If they want to think I'm a GOLDEN Retriever, then color me gold!

So anyway, I get taken to another nice lady and then to a real live house with the nicest people and I'm actually getting to live inside!  I'm doing my very best there too 'cause I'm smart enough not to mess up a good thing - I'm going potty outside, and when they say "sit" I sit, and I try not to get too excited on the leash.  I'm getting along with the other dogs that live there too.  I mean, what a deal - other than having to take a bath - which wasn't so bad, I get good food, and a ball, and toys, and hugs, and kisses, and did I say a BALL!?!?!  What's not to love?  The only thing that would be better would be if I had a home of my very own.  Talk about hitting the jackpot - that would be the best!

So until that day happens, I'll do whatever it takes to be a Golden Retriever.  See how well I'm fitting in?  No black Lab in this house - no sir, no way!  All I see is a couple of Goldens and their friend hanging out.  Right?  Remember, you promised not to tell.  Don't mess this up for me.

UPDATE:  I'm adopted!!!!  And they don't even care that I'm not a yellow dog - they love me just the way I am!!
