She Never Had a Chance! Read the tragic story of how we were unable to save a sweet golden "girl". It was a very sad day for us. This story will break your heart - CLICK HERE
Hello Golden Lovers! My name is Bear and I am a golden retriever, with possibly a tiny amount of something mixed in. The Gulf County Animal Control found me living under a trailer, where I survived after I was abandoned after many years of loyal companionship.
I have managed to survive in the heat of summer without regular food and water, until I was taken to the local humane society. There, I was welcomed by volunteers who washed me repeatedly to get rid of the black dirt and oil covering my golden hair. Then, because my hair was so matted and discolored, they shaved and cut the hair they could not salvage. unfortunately, my previous human owners did not give me Heartguard and I did have heartworms. I have completed this treatment and that is behind me now.
I also have hip and left elbow dysplasia which is a result of my genetics and a poor diet. Despite all this, I was neutered. The vet today said I am between 7 and 9 years old. Right now I am taking Rimadyl to help with the dysplasia and the bone spurs on my spine. I hope this will decrease my pain and allow me to live a normal life. I am housebroken and I really like other dogs. I wag my tail a lot despite my ailments and I am hoping that someone will give me a loving home for the time I have left.
Good night, golden lovers and please pray that my forever home will find me soon!
