NOT ALL OUR EFFORTS ARE 100% SUCCESSFUL ... WE NEED YOUR HELP AMBER RESCUED APRIL 28, 2007 WENT TO THE RAINBOW BRIDGE MAY 2, 2007
Amber, a six-year-old female, petite red golden retriever recently came into the Emerald Coast Golden Retriever Rescue from a local shelter. We were aware she was heartworm positive, but that didn’t matter to the rescue. We knew we had a healthy waiting list of applicants wanting to adopt that special golden retriever needing a loving home.
ECGRR picked up Amber hours before euthanasia, and quickly brought her to a veterinarian. The vet took his time checking her out very carefully only to discover she had a fever that was dangerously high. Amber was sent into a loving and diligent foster home that catered to her every need, hopeful for a full recovery. Amber was admitted the very next day into the hospital for IV’s and blood work. She finally succumb to a severe kidney infection and passed onto the Rainbow Bridge in her sleep.
Amber's remains were cremated and will be kept as a reminder to all of us that we unfortunately can not save them all. Amber will not be forgotten. All of us at ECGRR, know that she died without a forever home, but the many people who participate in rescuing unwanted golden retrievers morn her loss.
As you would expect, ECGRR supported and loved Amber in the short time she was with us, and now we are asking for donations to help rebuild our funds. Our efforts to try and save Amber were considerable and any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Please visit our DONATIONS PAGE for information on how you can help. Won’t you please donate now, so that we will be able to provide much needed medical care to these unwanted and homeless dogs? You can also help by volunteering. Foster homes are desperately needed to love and care for our precious goldens. You can donate directly on the website as well as fill in an online volunteer application.
