HONEY (MATEY)

Matey (now called Honey Bear) came to us as a 1 year old spayed female.  A petite 48 pounds, she is full off energy and life!  Well mannered in the house she loves to snuggle on the couch. Chasing squirrels and looking for lizards are some of her favorite pastimes!

Her new forvever parents, Stan & Diana wrote: 

Just wanted to update you on our wonderful girl whom we adopted back on
November 5, 2006.  Her name was Matey and we have changed it to Honey Bear.
She is now approximately 14 months old and, after having had her series of
Bortadella, she was allowed to attend "Doggie Day Care" at a local facility
here in Panama City.  Needless to say, she loved it and played hard the
whole time she was there.  There were six other dogs there that day (she was
the only Golden and I must say, the prettiest dog there).  She was totally
exhausted when I picked her up and voluntarily climbed into her bed and
slept soundly thru the night!  My son has a one year old Black Lab and when
he brings Maggie over to play, she and Honey Bear romp around the yard
non-stop.  We have also enrolled her in Obedience Training at Petsmart and
she has had three weekly lessons and is doing much better at "loose-leash"
walking, but still is inclined to pull me if I let her.  All in all, she is
a wonderful pet and we adore her.  Thank you and your organization for
allowing us to adopt such a beautiful dog.

Here are some photos of Honeybears (formerly Matey).  They were taken while she was being tested at the end of her obedience training at Petsmart in Panama City, FL.

She graduated and continues to add joy to our lives.
